This music is neither jazz nor chamber music, neither ambient nor chanson, and certainly not Third Stream of any kind. Welcome Hilde’s third album, a band based in North Rhine-Westphalia and London. The band succeeds immediately in freeing themselves from all categorical limitations. This music is one hundred percent Hilde and could only be delivered in this form by exactly those four musicians.

It needs no definitions, reference points, or explanations, but unfolds within the coordinates of time and space with a naturalness and independence, as if it had always been there, simply waiting for the right personalities capable of doing it justice with the appropriate sovereignty and humility.

"Timbre" is an album with character, revealing itself through its flexible simultaneity and wholeness. Hilde offer listeners the open-hearted gift of being able to expand freely within the soundscape they have created and surrender to their own images and associations.
